The Shoreline

M.H. John

I wrote this poem while reflecting on the bittersweet nature of summer. To me, summer has always been a season that celebrates growth, warmth, and beauty, yet it also reminds us that nothing lasts forever. The ocean became a metaphor for the people, memories, and experiences that leave their mark on us before eventually drifting away. Through this poem, I wanted to explore the idea that letting go is not the opposite of love, but it is often one of the greatest expressions of it.
