Returning Me

M.H. John

I wrote this poem about the feeling of being seen gently enough that you no longer feel the need to hide parts of yourself. While writing it, I imagined the softness of evening, the calmness of being understood without having to explain every wound, and the quiet kind of love that makes guarded parts of us slowly open again.
